Glacier Garden Cavaglia

Glacier Garden Cavaglia

The glacial mills of Cavaglia were designed by the Palü glacier. Over thousands of years, glacial water, debris and gravel have worked their way through the hard rock and created huge holes in the ground. Access to the glacial mills is easy: from Cavaglia railway station it is only a 10-minute walk. Entrance is free. For the children, "Grummo", the peaceful giant of Cavaglia, is waiting. Can you find the secret of his giant size?

Project 2020/2021: The Cavagliasco Gorge at the south-eastern end of the Cavaglia plateau is characterised by bizarre forms of erosion. Whirlpools, glacial mills and large cave-like slopes remain hidden from visitors and passers-by to this day. A new gorge path will make these unique natural beauties accessible in the future.
